PALAKKAD: The unexpected blow seen in Mannarkkad assembly constituency led to the defeat in Palakkad, said M B Rajesh, the LDF candidate. V K Sreekandan, the UDF candidate won by 11,637 votes.
The drop of votes in Mannarkkad shocked everyone. Such a leap was not seen anywhere in Palakkad constituency and then it was in Pattambi. Palakkad assembly constituency favours the UDF. That leap did not reflect much there and it will be examined in detail, he said.
"I had mentioned earlier about the conspiracy in the constituency. The sexual abuse case at the party office in Cherpulasseri is a proof of the conspiracy. An owner of a self-financing college is behind it," he said.
Sreekandan garnered more votes from Palakkad, Pattambi and Mannarkkad constituencies. Rajesh was ahead in Shornur, Ottappalam, Kongad and Malampuzha constituencies.
