THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: In the KPCC meeting held on Tuesday, it was decided to seek explanation from Congress leader A P Abdullakutty for his Facebook comments praising Modi’s achievements.
Abdullakutty had written that Modi’s was a great win and it was an acceptance for the development works he had done for the country. As soon the post became controversial, political parties including the Youth Congress had come out against the Congress leader. KPCC’s decision came soon after this.
Besides this, it was also decided to appoint a special committee to study the UDF’s drubbing in Alappuzha. UDF’s defeat in Alappuzha though it had won all other 19 seats had become the topic of heated discussion. It was alleged that there was fall in voting percentage on Alappuzha Corporation and Cherthala constituent assembly due to the interference of local leaders.
In the leadership meeting and political affairs committee meeting, Alappuzha UDF candidate Shanimol Usman was not present. The official explanation was that she was fasting ahead of Idul Fitr. But, the hint is that she stayed away from the meeting due to her defeat in the recent Lok Sabha election.
