P K Sreemathy comes out in support of Jayarajan’s purdah remark

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF Kannur candidate P K Sreemathy has backed Jayarajan’s remark that people going to vote covering their face with purdah should not be allowed to vote.
“When a person goes to vote after completely covering his body, it will be difficult even to find whether the voter is a male or female. The election commission should explain what the use of photo is if people are allowed to cover their identity and do the voting. That is why Jayarajan said that the purdah should be removed. This is not a religious condemnation. Also, bogus voting cannot be accepted, whoever does it,” she said.
Sreemathy added that re-polling would help the Left and she didn’t know whether it was due to some external influence that the announcement of re-polling in Dharmadom was delayed.
