THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite his failure A. Sampath, the LDF candidate at Attingal, said that he’ll be with the people. Citing the reasons for his defeat, Sampath said that he didn’t get the expected votes, while the opponent’s votes crossed expectations. Responding to the question from media that "wasn’t he a candidate so sure about victory?", Sampath said that at times of disasters like Tsunami, floods, and cyclones, even elephants will fly, then why not a lamb?

Sampath expressed his gratitude to the voters, the winning candidate Adoor Prakash, activists, officers, and the media.

He further talked about UDF’s defeat in 2004 and the landslide victory of Congress in 1977.

Sampath said that this result need not be taken seriously and he will work with the people. He added that he would take up future responsibilities given to him by the party.
