CPI (M) report states leak in devotee votes, but didn't mention Sabarimala

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a report presented in CPI (M) state panel, it has been stated that traditional votes of devotees were not cast in favor of the party in the Lok Sabha election. It was also pointed out that a section of believers was misled.

However, there is no mention of Sabarimala in CPI (M)’s report. A section of believers is said to have been a setback in the report presented by state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

The report also mentions the loss of votes from minorities towards Congress to prevent a second term for Modi government. Even though reasons are cited, discussion on election debacle has not started yet. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan are of the stand that the Sabarimala issue has not affected the outcome of polls.
