THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State general secretary has come out to slam State election commission. He said on Saturday that the approach of the election commission including the manner in which the re-polling date was announced was not right.
“The Commission didn’t function with proper preparedness and seriousness. We doubt that the commission is working under some duress. People staying in faraway places are denied the right to vote,” he said.
Referring to Jayarajan’s purdah remark, Kodiyeri said that “there is nothing wrong in wearing purdah and going to vote but such persons should exhibit their face at polling booths so that they can be identified. Using clothes as a veil to cast bogus votes can’t be accepted”.
Kodiyeri also condemned attacks against the media. “We shall examine the allegation that CPM workers attacked media persons the other day,” he added.
