Cabinet approves Air Kerala Project

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Cabinet gave its sanction for the Air Kerala Project. Briefing on Cabinet decisions here, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the Centre had given in principal approval for Mono Rail projects also at Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode.

The Chief Secretary would convene meeting to discuss the actions that need to be taken for execution of these projects. The sea plane project was one of the most interested projects of the Emerging Kerala Meet.

He said 58 groups had expressed interest in this project. Tourism Department had been named the nodal agency for this project.
The time frame for starting this project after getting sanction form the Centre had been kept as January 2013.
