Cinemas in Kerala to stay shut tomorrow in protest against power tariff hike
KOCHI: Cinema theatres in Kerala will down shutters on Thursday as part of a token strike to protest against the increased power tariff.
If there was no favourable response from the government, all theatres in the state would be shut indefinitely from October 17, Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation Secretary M C Bobby said in a statement here.
The federation also demanded that the maintenance charge of Rs 2 should be increased to Rs 5 and Malayalam films should be exempted from entertainment tax.
