Private bus strike from Oct 1

KOCHI: The Private Bus Operators Coordination Committee has decided to strike from October 1 if the bus fare is not hiked in the wake of the increase in price of diesel.

The minimum charge should be made Rs 7. Students’ concession fare in private buses should be 50 % of the new rate. The committee also sought a special industrial policy for private buses. Bus owners said that they cannot go forward without increasing the fare.
