NEW DELHI: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran said that the need of a CBI probe in RMP leader T P Chandrashekharan’s murder arises only if the ongoing investigation fails.
In a press meet conducted in the capital, he said that the investigation, at present, is moving on a very lethargic pace.
When questioned about the probable reason for it, he said that it may be the negligence on the part of the police officers.
He said that his stance in the issue was transparent from the very beginning and the case shall be considered closed only if all the conspirators behind the murder are brought to light. He added that the investigating team should be given time for it and if they fail, decision shall be taken about transferring the case to CBI.
