Teenager’s body washed ashore

THRISSUR: The body of a teenager, who had been reported missing at Arappathode washed ashore at Thalikulam beach on Sunday. Fishermen alerted the police after spotting the body around 6 am. Sanjay Sagar, 16, son of Mani of Kannachanpurakkal, west of Chilanka Beach in Vadanapally, was reported missing after he went to have a bath with his friends at Arappathode. Local people jumped into the sea and tried in vain to rescue Sanjay. A search operation by the police and rescue services personnel too did not yield any results. The body was handed over to relatives after a post-mortem was conducted. Sanjay was cremated on the premises of his house. He was a student of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Valapad.
