THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of Kerala High Court upholding the liquor policy of the government, 300 bars excluding five star hotels, will close this night itself, said Excise Minister K Babu. Talking to the media, he said excise officials will seal the remaining liquor in bars.
The high court verdict is a reply to those who opined that there is no clarity in government’s liquor policy. The verdict boosts the self-confidence of the government. The 300 bars to be closed and those following government’s criteria will be given beer-wine licenses, he said.
