Mani not to stay back in Assembly

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sending the signal that he care zilch for the Opposition’s move to block him from entering the Assembly house, Finance Minister K M Mani has said that he has no plans to stay back in the Assembly house on Thursday. He said he would start from his official house Prashanthi tomorrow morning, reach the Assembly house without any problem and present the budget.

“Mani literally means Immanuel and Immanuel means one who is very close to God. I am a person who is standing close to God. Without fail, I will make my usual  visit to the church tomorrow ( the budget day) ( But today also Mani is reported to have visited the church). On the February 13, I shall be presenting the budget for the 13th time and incidentally, I also have 13 grand children.

There was earlier reports that today Mani would be staying back in the wake of the protests planned by the Opposition tomorrow. Though the Assembly session was adjourned, the Opposition members are hanging around in the Assembly now.

The Opposition plan is to block all five entrances of the Assembly house tomorrow. The blockade protest will be led by Opposition leader  V S Achuthanandan and CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
