THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Shibu Baby John has sent a legal notice to Kozhikode DCC president K C Abu, alleging that he had tried to defame him by making comments with sexual undetones over March 13 happenings in the Assembly house.
The notice says legal action will be initiated against Abu if he doesn’t withdraw his statement and tender a public apology within three days. Shibu, who has given a letter to the chief minister, demanding action against Abu, is also going to approach KPCC president in this regard.
Yesterday, at a press conference in Kozhikode, Abu said both Shibu and Bijimol had thoroughly enjoyed the events that was going on in the Assembly. When this turned into an ugly controversy, Shibu came out against Abu.
Meanwhile, CPI’s decision is to go ahead with stringent action against Abu and M A Vaheed MLA for their comments against Bijimol. Bijimol submitted a complaint to DGP, yesterday itself. The party in coordination with the Left Front will take a stern stand and this will be evident when the Assembly session resumes on Monday. The party is not in a mood to slacken its stand against Abu and Vaheed, thought they had tendered apologies.
In the letter given to the chief minister, Shibu has requested the chief minister to take action against Abu. “Abu’s comment had hurt me and I have not discussed the happenings in the Assembly with him,” he says in the letter.
