THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan lashed out at Finance Minister K M Mani in the Kerala Assembly. Offences have disfigured his face, VS said in the assembly.
VS said the government would have to face dare consequences if it let tainted Mani to present the budget and the chief minister alone would be responsible for that. VS said Mani's continuation as a minister was a shame to entire Kerala.
Mani pooh-poohed the opposition charges and said his 50-year-long public life was transparent. All these allegations were baseless and purposefully aimed to tarnish my image, Mani said.
Some noisy scenes were witnessed in the assembly when Mani got up to speak. The opposition squatted on the well of the house when permission was denied for the adjournment motion. The assembly had to be suspended following the uproar.
