Charge sheet to be filed in cocaine case

KOCHI: The police are trying hard so that the accused in the sensational cocaine case are not released on bail. If the charge sheet is not filed within 60 days, a situation will arise to grant bail to the accused. The charge sheet will be filed by April 1. It is hinted that the police are trying to settle the case by filing the charge sheet with the intention they are not granted bail. The case will be closed without touching the noted director, who supplied cocaine in Kochi, and the new generation actors. The charge sheet is prepared without mentioning the links of the accused with the top levels of the district.

Five persons including actor Shine Tom Chacko were arrested on January 31 in the case.  An accused in a drug case can be jailed for ten years. If the charge sheet is not filed within 60 days, they are eligible for bail. It is the liability of the police to see that bail is not granted to them as they are influential people. The investigating team said the charge sheet will be filed soon.
