Mother killed, baby escapes unhurt in accident
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 28-year-old woman was killed while her three-year-old daughter escaped unhurt after they were caught behind a reversing bus at the KSRTC bus terminal at Thampanoor here on Tuesday. The woman, identified as Manjusha, wife of Rajeev of Mahesh Bhavan, Kaithodu in Nilamel, and her daughter Ahalya, three, had reached Thiruvananthapuram to visit a garments store where Manjusha was working earlier. She had got a job near her home and was here to inform the same to the store owners, and had alighted at Thampanoor around 3.30 pm when the accident occurred. Ahalya escaped unhurt after the mother-daughter duo was caught behind the reversing bus, but Manjusha was declared brought dead at the Government Medical College Hospital here. Manjusha is survived by Ahalya, Rajeev, who is an auto-rickshaw driver, and the couple’s elder daughter, Lakhsmi, 8.
