THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister K P Mohanan has informed in the Assembly that a Vigilance probe has been ordered into the alleged illegal and anti-democratic things happening in Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University. He said this in reply to the submission made by Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan in the Assembly on Monday. The minister said the decision to order the probe was taken on the basis of several petitions VS received from various organisations.
The government has cancelled the 2014 August 30 order for implementing NRI quota in the recruitments in the university as it felt recruitment through NRI quota didn’t ensure equal justice for all. Following this, recruitments this year were not made under NRI quota. The petitions received from the Opposition leader have been handed over to the government.
V S had alleged that Tughlaq reforms were being carried out by the vice-chancellor in the varsity. Even the Opposition leader was banned from entering the university campus.
