DIG Sreejith writes to CM

Kannur Range DIG S Sreejith who is in the list of the police officers having criminal cases pending against them, has appealed to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that he has been wrongly included in the list.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Sreejith stated that ‘’he has been included in the list only on account of a private complaint submitted by one Ramesh Nambiar before the Thrissur Vigilance court.’’

He argued that branding officers against whom only private complaints are pending was unjust because anybody could file a private complaint against any police officer raising wild allegations.  Sreejith adds that on inquiry by  North  Zone ADGP Mahesh Kumar Singla,  the allegations levelled in the aforesaid complaint ‘’had been categorically and convincingly found to be false.’’  Sreejith who figures in the list of 533 police personnel with criminal cases  pending against them submitted by the DGP before the High Court, is presently attending a training camp at Hyderabad.
