It's time to take appropriate action on bar licence issue: Satheesan

PATHANAMTHITTA: KPCC vice-president V D Satheesan has said that there is a general opinion that one person is against liquor sale and the rest are a part of liquor lobby; this attitude is not right.

He said that “it is high time that an appropriate decision was taken on bar licence issue.”

Satheesan took exception to KPCC president V M Sudheeran being single out for criticism regarding bar licence issue. “It is true that there are differences of opinion. Among the 308 bars functioning now, there are substandard ones. Their permit should be cancelled and those which are up to the mark should be given the permit,” suggested the leader.

However, Congress leaders T N Prathapan and MLA Ajay Tharayil disagreed with Satheesan’s opinion.
