THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A movement of sorts has started within the Congress party to sideline KPCC president V M Sudheeran, who has refused to toe the line of prominent leaders within the party and the government over bar licence issue. What is happening now within the party is an open fight over the issue. By the way, there is only a small group to support Sudhheran’s view.
When a major chunk of leaders within the party suggests a practical approach on 418 closed down ‘substandard’ bars, Sudheeran continue to be adamant in his stand. It was only recently that he became the KPCC president and everyone knows that it is not an easy thing to remove him suddenly from the post. He was appointed as a representative of the High command and his stand also has wide public support.
Taking into account these facts those against his views are looking for a crooked path to remove Sudheeran from the post and the best way they think is organisational election. They also expect the support of A group and I group leaders for the ‘trap’ they are planning to set for Sudheeran.
