Sudheeran challenging court: Kummanam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP State President Kummanam Rajasekharan has said that KPCC president V M Sudheeran has been challenging the high court and legal system. “Sudheeran’s stand that the country’s judicial system should function according to political will shall only destroy country’s legal setup. Sudeeran should end the intolerance against courts,” Kummanam said in a strongly-worded statement.

“The high court made the observation that SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan’s speech had nothing to trigger communal enmity. It said there was also nothing against any particular community in his speech. All these remarks were made and anticipatory bail granted by the court after examining the real facts and realising the truth. Sudheeran’s comment that the court had breached its limits of power is an interference with the legal setup and threat to legal system. By this he has spoilt the circumstance that allowed judges to function independently. Sudheeran’s move to threaten judges when they deliver verdict that turns bitter pills to him will only create anarchy,” he said.

He said in Vellapally’s case BJP’s stand was similar to the high court’s stand. The case against him was forged when he started talking against Left and Right Fronts. He had only talked about chief minister’s discriminatory governance. The court was also clear about it.
