KOTTAYAM: Congress President Sonia Gandhi has warned the party leaders that their ‘group’ activities should not cross the limits. She asked the leaders to avoid arguments in the party and move ahead unitedly.
Significantly, heeding to the party chief’s advice, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC president V M Sudheeran will hold a joint press conference on Thursday. Earlier, the leaders of the UDF allies had convinced Sonia during their meeting with her that the UDF would receive a major blow in the coming Assembly election if it didn’t improve its unity. The Muslim League had said it plainly that the crux of the problems lay within the Congress.
Sonia’s strict instructions to Congress leaders came only after her meeting with the leaders of Muslim League, Kerala Congress and RSP.
