KALPETTA: Wayanad district medical officer P V Sashidharan, who was reported missing, was found dead on Tuesday. He was found hanging at his own clinic in Malappuram. A suicide note has been recovered from the spot. However, the note has not mentioned anything serious but has asked to hang his framed photo at the DMO office after his death.
There were reports that he had left for Wayanad from Panthalloor in Malappuram Monday morning but had not reached office. Deputy DMO Santhosh had lodged a missing complaint at the Mananthavady police last night. On investigation, it was found that he had used his phone till 10 pm Sunday night. The driver had waited for Sashidharan with the office vehicle till 11.30 am and later informed the DMO office.
He went home on Saturday and was return to office on Monday. Sashidharan who reached Wayanad as deputy DMO from Idukki got promotion a year back while working here.
