THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University Vice-chancellor Dr P Radhakrishnan's son Harikrishnan (19) died in a vehicle accident in front of Credence hospital on Medical College road at around 7 pm on Monday.
The death happened after the Honda Activa on which he was travelling collided with a KSRTC bus. Harikrishnan, who lost control after the collision and was thrown off to the road, was run over by the bus.
Though the locals rushed him to Medical college hospital, his life could not be saved.
The accident occurred when the bus that was moving towards Ulloor from Kesavadasapuram tried to overtake his scooter. The bus driver fled from the scene and the police have taken the bus into custody.
Hariskrishnan was the only son of Dr Radhakrishnan and Sheeba, a teacher in Pattom Kendriya Vidyalaya. He was a sixth semester student of Nalanchira Mar Baselios Engineering College. From his Sree Dhanya apartment at Kochullur, he was on his way to buy medicine.
