IREL and KMML will be retained in public sector: Shibu Baby John

KOLLAM: Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL) and Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited (KMML) would be retained in public sector itself, said Minister Shibu Baby John. There is a hidden motive to destroy these two firms. Many are eyeing this sector and it is impossible, he said in reply to a question at the press meet convened to say that the campaign that activists are leaving the RSP is wrong.

The crisis in the IREL is changing. Non-availability of minerals is the problem. When asked that owners are ready to give land he said getting any land will not do any good, he said.

I too have noticed that sand is being smuggled to Tamil Nadu from IREL, he said.

The CPM is hatching a conspiracy to destroy the RSP. It is being circulated that Kovoor Kunjumon MLA is all set to join the CPI. The aim is to damage the credibility of Kovoor. The attempt to stain my image and to create confusion in the party is behind it, said Kovoor. I haven’t held talks with CPI secretary Kanam Rajendran. I stick to RSP, he said.
