THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The cabinet has decided to conduct a judicial inquiry into the incident in which a youth called Sibi died when he was in police custody at Kottayam Marangattupilly.
During the cabinet briefing, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy informed that retired district judge G Sreevallabhan had been appointed as the Commission.
Sibi, who was taken in police custody on June 29, was later admitted in Kottayam Medical College hospital with fatal injuries. There he succumbed to his injuries. Marangattupilly SI George was suspended in this connection.
