THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Supreme Court verdict approving state government’s decision to close the bars of the state is historic, said KPCC chief V M Sudheeran. Everyone welcomes this decision which is exemplary, he told reporters here.
The government is following the decision of the time of K Karunakaran reducing the availability of liquor. It has been proved that government’s decision is hundred per cent right. The government’s responsibility is to reduce liquor consumption. KPCC congratulates the chief minister, government and the UDF for taking the decision to close the bars.
Sudheeran said they are least bothered on the threat of bar owners. One will be disappointed when the verdict is not in favour of them. It is quite natural. The government will not go back from their decision, he said.
