KOLLAM: Youth Congress State Vice-President C R Mahesh has sarcastically alleged at a press conference here on Monday that mentally unstable State Congress leadership has made ‘all persons seen on the wayside the office bearers during the re-organisation of District Congress Committees.
“In several districts the number of office bearers range between 75 and 100. Even servants in group leaders’ houses have been made office bearers. Those who fixed criteria for selecting office-bearers have thrown that to the wind. The national leadership had appointed V M Sudheeran as KPCC president in order to rein in Groupism in Congress. But he has also succumbed to group leaders’ pressure. Those who have entered the DCC are suffocating. Those who are outside are trying all means to enter it. Now because of the crowd, such a situation exists wherein members will have to convene DCC meeting on beaches. The chief minister and home minister observing silence over the jumbo committee is a dangerous trend. Though many who have gained entry through youth account are youth age-wise, they are foot-lickers through their karma,” C R Mahesh ridiculed.
