Many injured at Sabarimala; 32 collapse

SABARIMALA: In the heavy rush at Sabarimala many were injured on Tuesday. 32 persons who stood in the queue for hours fell down unconscious. Two among them are in serious condition and they have been admitted to Kottayam Medical college.

As the rush of devotees has increased, the police have decided to regulate the flow of devotees from Pamba.

The problems began  when the devotees had to stand for about 16 hours in queue. Though the crowd was not much of  late, the situation changed as soon as the Chennai weather condition improved.

The rush started after Devaswom Board's finding that there was shortage of Rs 15 crore income this time compared with the corresponding time last year came out.

It has been decided to post an additional company of Indian Reserve Battalion at Sannidhanam to manage heavy rush.
