Gave Rs 20 lakh to Police Association: Saritha

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair deposed before the Solar Commission on Friday that she had given Rs 20 lakh to Police Association as donation on behalf of Team Solar.

Saritha revealed the above fact to the media after handing over to the Commission the evidence on top political leaders’ link to the Solar Company and the sexual harassment she had had to face . The vital information was given in sealed cover.

“The money to the Police Association was handed over through Police Association Secretary Ajith at a place near the Secretariat but receipt was not taken for this. Instead of that, Ajith assured me that a resolution will be passed in the Association meeting to install Team solar’s solar panels  in all State police stations . On April 13, 2013 the police association passed the resolution to install solar panels, following which ADGP Shankar Reddy gave the nod to the resolution. In a quid pro quo agreement with the association, Ajith assured us to publish the company name in the Association’s magazine. But around that time, I got arrested. In the 103th page of the magazine our company’s advertisement was published under well-wisher’s compliments.

Saritha also told the Commission that the association office-bearers had asked her not to reveal to anyone the details of the money donated. “There was also government order for solar electrification in Wayanad collectorate. M I Shanavas MP’s P A Shailesh was the person who had done all help in this regard,” she said.

Yesterday Saritha had submitted before the Commission that the Team solar had made donations  to the party fund through Congress MLAs Benny Behanan and PC Vishnunath.
