Film fraternity bids adieu to Rajesh Pillai

KOCHI: Rajesh Pillai, the man who made unforgettable movies like Traffic, Mili, Hridaythil Sookshikkan and Vettah was on Sunday given his last farewell by the film fraternity.

He was cremated at Ravipuram in Ernakulam at 10.30 am in the presence of his relatives and friends. Many from the film industry attended the last rites of Pillai.

Many paid homage to Pillai when his body was kept at Marine Plaza Association Hall from 8 am. Kunchacko Boban, Jayasurya, Sunny Wayne, Suresh Krishna, Prem Prakash, Siddique, Manju Warrier, Remya Nambeesan, directors Siddique, Lal Jose and many others paid homage to the departed soul.

Pillai, who was undergoing treatment for liver cirrhosis, died yesterday morning at 11.45 am.
