LDF to organise protest gatherings against BJP from Feb 19 to 26

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a statement, LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan alleged on Tuesday that the Sangh Parivar forces were ruling the roost in the country by jailing P Jayarajan, threatening democrats and carrying out attacks using their political clout. “The Left will organise protest gatherings in all Assembly constituencies from February 19 to 26 against BJP’s anti-democratic ways,” he said.

Vaikom Viswam alleged that RSS was behind putting CPM Kannur district Secretary P Jayarajan behind the bars after invoking UAPA act against him. “The evidence to substantiate this has come out. For some time now, they have been attempting to destroy P Jayarajan. Jayarajan has not been able to regain his proper health ever since he had had to face a near-fatal attack at the hands of RSS men. He also had to undergo angioplasty four times. Such a person has been jailed now after fake cases were made against him,” the statement said.   

The Left leader also blamed Sangh Parivar for alleged anti-democratic stand of the Centre against JNU students and threat message sent to CPM leader Sitaram Yechury for supporting the students’ strike at JNU in New Delhi.
