Palkulangara temple pond to be renovated

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health and Devaswom Minister V S Sivakumar has said that the pond of the Palkulangara Sree Bhagavathy Temple will soon be renovated. The project will be undertaken by utilizing Rs 32 lakh, of which Rs 18 lakh will be obtained from the government’s scheme to preserve temples and ponds. In addition, the temple ‘gopuram’ will be renovated at a cost of Rs 12 lakh. The minister made the announcements while opening the temple pond for the devotees. He directed the Devaswom Board chief engineer to install sufficient lighting. He added that the ‘nadapanthal’ (roofed footpath) on the temple premises had been renovated at a cost of Rs.3 lakh, according to an official release.
