KANNUR: A BJP activist was hacked to death at Pappinisseri in Kannur. He has been identified as Sujith (27) of Aroli. Police said almost ten people barged into his house with weapons late last night and attacked him.
His parents and brother too sustained injuries. Though the seriously injured Sujith was taken to AKG Hospital, his life could not be saved. His body was later shifted to the mortuary of the district hospital. Initial reports say CPM activists are behind the incident.
The police have started investigation. A large contingent of police has been deployed at Aroli and nearby areas to avoid any untoward incidents.
