P Jayarajan admitted at Amala Medical College after accident

THRISSUR: The ambulance carrying CPM Kannur district secretary P Jayarajan, remanded in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case, met with an accident while he was being shifted to Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) in Thiruvananthapuram late Tuesday night. The ambulance hit a culvert at the over bridge near the Amala Medical College. Jayarajan has been admitted at the Amala Medical College after the accident. The two tyres on the left side of the ambulance deflated.

The ambulance arranged by the police left Kozhikode Medical College at 11 pm last night. Their plan was to teach the capital city early Wednesday morning. They left in the night in order to avoid problems on the way.

None of Jayarajan’s relatives were in the ambulance. He was brought like that as he was an accused remanded.

Meanwhile,CPMactivists reached the hospital after knowing the incident. The doctors of the Amala Hospital said they can continue journey as his health condition is stable. Though the police tried to continue journey, the activists stopped it. The party activists said they can continue journey only after Jayarajan’s wife, other relatives and M V Jayarajan reach the hospital. M V Jayarajan will reach the hospital soon.
