Major fire at Western India Plywoods

KANNUR: A major fire broke out at the Western India Plywood Factory at Valapattanam in the district at 2.30 am early Monday morning. No casualty has been reported.

Fire force team from Kannur, Thalipparambu and Payyannur reached the spot and extinguished the fire completely. Loss of millions has been estimated.

Hundreds of plywood sheets manufactured in the factory and machines worth lakh have been gutted in the fire. Preliminary reports say short circuit is the reason for the fire.
