Dr Soosa Pakiam asks political parties to make clear stand on liquor policy

KOCHI: Archbishop Dr Soosa Pakiam of Latin diocese Sunday asked political parties to make clear their stand on the liquor policy. Those opposing liquor ban should be defeated, he said while talking at an anti-liquor committee’s meet of KCBC.

Political parties should announce their stand on liquor ban. Nobody will be permitted to move back from the present liquor policy. There is nothing wrong in opposing those backing liquor consumption. Abstaining from liquor is not a way for liquor ban, he said.

CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran had earlier stated that KCBC’s stand on abstinence from alcoholic beverages is hoax.
