Teacher writing exam row: Students asked to write exams again

KOZHIKODE: The police and the education department recorded the statements in connection with the incident of a teacher writing on behalf of a couple of students in the plus two exam recently held.

The education department directed the students to write the exam again. They have been asked to write the SAY exam on June 10. However, both children and parents said they would not accept the decision.

A team including higher secondary joint director and regional deputy director reached the school and recorded the statements of students as part of a comprehensive probe announced by the government. The statements of the four students for whom the teacher wrote the exam and 14 teachers who were in the school on the day the exam was held, was recorded.

Police said three accused teachers have gone underground. In the meanwhile, the teachers are planning to move the high court for anticipatory bail. A case has been filed against headmistress K Raziya, Nishad V Muhammed who wrote the exam, P K Faizal, the teacher of a school in Chennamangalur in charge of the exam, under non-bailable offence.
