Meantime, no confirmation has been obtained from the side of the police regarding the arrest of the two. Advocates informed the media that the two were produced at the Hosdurg Court.
The FIR of the police says the murder was the outcome of CPM activists’ hostility to the slain youths. The slain youths faced a threat from CPM Periya local committee member A Peethambaran and activists Reji and Kuttan (Pradeep). Sharath Lal was the first accused in attacking Peethambaran.
Sharath Lal and Kripesh were waylaid and hacked to death by a team at Kalyot on the night of February 17 while they were returning homes.
