CG trainee dies
KANNUR: Hyderabad-based Coast Guard trainee, Assistant Commandant Kiran Kumar Tadepalli (22) of the 15th Naval Orientation Course (NOC), passed away in the early hours of Monday during a routine training event. According to Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, here, the Indian Coast Guard trainee, who hailed from Hyderabad, was a physically fit, resolute and enthusiastic cadet.
He unfortunately collapsed during the inter-squadron cross-country competition, which is a regular bi-annual training event.
After being administered immediate first-aid, he was rushed first to the Naval Hospital at Ezhimala and thereafter to the Pariyaram Medical College Hospital where he was diagnosed to be suffering from 'rhabdomyolysis' and 'acute renal failure'.
He was placed under the specialist medical care of the Head of Nephrology. Despite best efforts, his condition remained critical and he passed away at 0650 hrs today.
