TP murder: Chargesheet to be submitted next week
The Special Investigation Team investigating the murder of Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T P Chandrasekharan, will submit the chargesheet in the case regarding the conspiracy to kill the RMP leader in 2009, before September 3.
Sources maintained that the investigation officers were busy preparing the chargesheet so as to submit it at the Vadakara Judicial First Class Magistrate Court by next week.
CPM Onchiyam Area Committee secretary C H Asokan, Area Committee member K K Krishnan, Kunnummakkara Local Committee member K C Ramachandran, Panur Area Committee member P P Ramakrishnan, gangsters Kirmani Manoj, M C Anoop, T K Rajeesh, Sijith alias Annan, Kajoor Ajesh, Chetty Shaji, Pondi Shaji and Jamintavida Biju are the accused in the case.
In the accused list, P P Ramakrishnan is the only person who was not involved in the TP murder, according to the chargesheet filed by the SIT in the T P Murder case.
Based on Sijith’s statement, Chombala Police registered a case regarding the conspiracy held in 2009 under various sections including 120B (criminal conspiracy), 118 (Concealing design to commit offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life), 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting with deadly weapons), and 155 (Liability of person for whose benefit riot is committed), as it occurred within the limits of Chombala police.
Sources added that the conspiracy was hatched in August 2009 and the attempts to eliminate Chandrasekharan were carried out in the months of September and October 2009.
Sijith was then a member of the gangster group led by Kirmani Manoj.
According to police, the gang followed the RMP leader for six days with deadly weapons then.
However, they could not carry out the operation as the RMP leader was always surrounded by a group of followers.
K C Ramachandran, then helped the assailants to conceal the weapons.
The police said that later the ‘quotation’ was handed over to Kodi Suni as the gang under Kirmani Manoj failed to carry out the operation.
Earlier, SIT filed a chargesheet against all the 76 accused in the murder case before Vadakara Judicial First Class Magistrate M Shohaib, on August 13.
The 1000-page chargesheet said that Chandrasekharan was murdered because RMP formed by him had become a threat for the CPM in Onchiyam, Eramala, Azhiyur and Chorode panchayats in Vadakara.
