NEW DELHI: The BJP has achieved a comfortable victory in three states in the assembly polls held in five states. Obtaining 34 seats the BJP has become the largest single party in Delhi. Pushing congress to the third position, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led by Aravind Kejriwal has secured 26 seats. The Congress was able to attain only seven seats.
When the party has retained Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan has been taken over by them from the congress.
When BJP retained Madhya Pradesh, the party has taken power in Rajasthan. When BJP acquired 139 seats in Madhya Pradesh led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the congress was able to get only 78 seats. This is the most comfortable victory the party had ever attained in Madhya Pradesh.
The BJP has taken over Rajasthan from the congress led by Ashok Gehlot in Rajasthan. When BJP got 136 seats, the congress was able to get only 31. This is the biggest defeat in the history faced by the congress in Rajasthan.
In Chattisgarh, the BJP is leading in 47 seats and congress in 41.
