Performance of BJP vindicates choice of Modi as PM candidate

KOCHI: Expressing happiness over the glittering performance of the party in the elections to Delhi, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan Assemblies, BJP state unit President V Muraleedharan Sunday said the decision of the national leaders of his party projecting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate has been proved to be correct.

"Naturally, the shining performance of the party in the assembly elections was a reflection of the party's decision to project Modi as their Prime Ministerial candidate in the ensuing election of the Lok Sabha," he told reporters.

The ruling congress party had stated that the elections to the North Indian states was a semi-final and the indication of the results coming out proved that the people have taken the congress party’s statement in correct direction and it was the first step towards the Lok Sabha election.

Learning lessons from the performance of the party in the North Indian states, the Kerala unit would also chalk out some strategies to face the coming Lok Sabha elections, he said, adding "certainly, the result would reflect in Kerala also and we will take more effective steps."
