Chennithala seeks report on Adimali homicide

KOTTAYAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has sought the report on Adimali mass murder. Kochi Range IG M R Ajith Kumar will reach Adimali and hold discussions with District police chief who had visited the lodge where the murder happened. Based on the discussions, IG will give a report to the home minister.

The local police have not been able to get a lead in the case since the murder happened about two weeks ago. Irate locals held silent march and public meeting in Adimali Town, demanding immediate police action to find the culprits on Friday. The people took part in the agitation after closing their shops.
Rajadhani Tourist Home proprietor Kunju Muhammed (69), wife Aishumma (58) and mother Nachi (85) were found murdered in the wee hours of February 13. The post-mortem report also showed that all the three were smothered to death.  The reason for murder was found to be robbery as the killers had made away with 25 sovereign gold.

The police had released the sketch of two suspected murderers based on the footages from the CCTV installed in nearby shops. It is almost certain that the accused were from other states and three persons jointly committed the crime. The police also tried to track them by the questioning the driver of the auto-rickshaw they hired to flee from the crime spot, but in vain.
