Curtain comes down on Thrissur pooram

THRISSUR: The curtain came down on Thrissur pooram, known as pooram of poorams, on Thursday. The concluding ceremony, where in idols from Thiruvambadi and Paramekkavu promise to meet again next year for pooram, was held in the presence of Vadakkum Natha idol. The ritual called 'Upacharam cholli piriyal' was held three times, marking the conclusion of the festival. After this, the idols of Thiruvambadi and Paramekkavu goddesses are taken back on elephants to their respective temples.
