THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A conspiracy was hatched by a team led by Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala to sabotage the statement of Biju Ramesh, bar association working president, given before the magistrate as per CRPC 164 against Excise Minister K Babu, alleged opposition leader V S Achuthanandan.
The Supreme Court has permitted only 15 days for initial investigation in the Lalithakumari case. However, the government granted 45 days for this case in the name of quick verification. As per CRPC, only 90 days are permitted to conduct an investigation in a murder case and maximum 60 days for other crimes. In a statement released, VS asked the government to make clear how they granted 45 days to probe the case against Babu.
So much days were granted to sabotage proofs and to threaten witnesses. Chennithala has evaded law to save his colleague. Quick verification was handed to the most corrupted officials in the vigilance department, he said.
