Vigilance under pressure, says vigilance ADGP

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A team comprising of corrupted politicians, officials and criminals are operating in the state, said vigilance director Winson M Paul. There are corrupted persons in the vigilance also. The vigilance is under pressure as it is under the government, he said. The probe in the bar case is going on smoothly and honestly and Jacob Thomas is still in charge of the probe, he said.

He said this while inaugurating a seminar organized in the capital city as part of International Anti-Corruption Day. Almost 60% persons in the state are directly involved in corruption. Investigation agencies to probe corruption are not able to work independently. The delay in taking legal steps is beneficial for the corruptors. Corruption cannot be wiped out without a change in this situation, he said.
