"Su30s with recce pods have managed to pick up something which has been given for assessment. What they have found is something like an aircraft," Eastern Air Command Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Air Marshal K K Nohwar said today.
The helicopters are searching with the inputs, he said. "The helicopters have made attempts to go to certain areas in Bhutan. Whenever weather is clear, helicopters are being pressed into service," Nohwar said. He said inputs also came from ISRO on three possible sites.
"Information from villagers are being collated with other inputs," he said. Stating the weather has hindered aerial search, the Air Marshal said aircraft are on stand-by in Guwahati, Tawang and Tezpur for search operations.
The Indian Army and the Royal Bhutan Army were focusing on rugged, snow-clad terrain at 13,700 feet in Dirang circle in West Kameng district for the helicopter carrying Arunachal Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu which remained missing for the fourth day today, as aerial search was cancelled because of heavy rains.
