King-2The King and the Commissioner’, it is now finalised that the project has been called off due to some ego problems between the star actors, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi who are casted in the title roles.
Anyhow, Shaji Kailas is not ready to waste the dates that Mammootty has already allotted for this project. And so he will prepare a sequel of the big hit ‘The King’ in the title ‘King 2′. The megastar will once again appear as Joseph Alex, the district collector with an extra bone in this movie, in the scripts of Renji Panikkar.
Says Ranji Panikkar: “After 15 long years I’ am doing a film with Shaji Kailas, so it has to be something really big. At the moment, I’m working on the script of the film. Mammootty’s right hand man and leading producer Anto Joseph has brought them together. The shoot of the film will start in January 2011, and it will be release through Mammootty’s Play House.

Kavya Madhavan will once again pair up with megastar Mammootty.According to sources, they will come together in Venicile Vyapari, directed by hit maker Shafi, who gave two consecutive hits Marykkundoru Kunjadu and Makeup Man. The title of the movie has been inspired by Shakespearian play 'Merchant of Venice'.Produced by Murali Films, the film is scripted by Cycle and Classmate fame James Albert and will commence shooting on July 15 at Alappuzha. The movie is expected to hit screens across the state in October.
Misuse of Shweta's stills: K.C. Abraham arrested
The Ernakulam central police on Wednesday arrested Kunnath Pharmaceuticals' managing director K.C. Abraham for misusing actress Shweta Menon's sexy stills from her recent film Kayam for promoting their Ayurvedic aphrodisiac Musli Power Extra. He freed on bail later.
The action was taken based on actress' complaint, filed af
ter some ad posters, featuring seductive poses of Shweta Menon and her co-actor Bala from Kayam, appeared in and around Thiruvananthapuram.
According to the actress, the Kayam producer Anitha Subhash and the pharmaceutical company had used the images without her permission. She later approached the court, seeking an explanation from the manufacturer and producer.
Ernakulam Central SI P.S. Shyju said that Abraham was arrested based on the complaint lodged by the actress. "We arrested him. But has been released on bail, as it is a bailable offence," he added.
